Whitman reprint No. 2358. Slight spine slant, corners bumped, minor edge wear, chipping, a little soiling to boards and edges, dampstain to rear pastedown and leading edge of last few pages. Browning but text and illustrations are clean and unmarked. Jacket has moderate edge wear and chipping, brown staining on and inside flaps, spine a little sunned.

Second book in the girls' adventure series from the 1920s featuring Joy Payton and Pam Hotchkiss. In Joy and Gypsy Joe, Joy had run away at the age of six and lived with the gypsies for four years. This book opens with Joy's eleventh birthday, her first birthday back at home. This book could not be written today because it is so charmingly innocent. A real glimpse into bygone days.
