Red cloth with gold lettering, 296 pp. Ex-library with all the typical markings and pockets plus stamps that say 'Worn out'. Spine a bit cocked, sunned. Corners worn, a little edge wear, light soiling to boards. Light tanning, a couple pages with pencil markings. ;
No original dust jacket, but the library improvised a blank, protective cover with title hand lettered on spine. Cover in new Brodart.
Even without the jacket, this copy can be identified as a first edition because there is a date stamp from the library - Feb 22, 1939 - that is prior to the date of the second printing. ; 6¾" - 7¾" Tall; 296 pages;
