Reading copy. Spine somewhat creased, slanted, some edge wear and cover creasing, a little waviness along top of book, a couple pages partially detached. Some tanning, text is clean and unmarked. A good reading copy.
Set in our far future, but in the distant past of Asimov's Foundation series, Earth's crust is mostly radioactive. Reviled by the rest of the Galaxy, considered nearly subhuman, only a scant portion of Earth is fertile -- to limit population every Earthman is euthanized at age 60. Joseph Schwartz steps through a time warp and is transported from 1949 Chicago to this future Earth. He is 62 and thus automatically a fugitive from the Sixty. Given an experimental mind treatment, Schwartz develops the power to read other people's minds -- and manipulate them. As a result, he discovers a plot by fanatical Earthmen to release a deadly virus that will destroy civilization throughout the Galaxy, except for Earth. The problems is, no one will believe him . . .; 6¾" - 7¾" Tall
