Once interest is aroused, the Biblical narratives may do the rest. . . .
"The illustrations in the volume are of tremendous importance; they had to be a good deal better than current Bible illustrations, with their poor art and accent on hell-fire and damnation, and a good deal more meaningful than classical illustrations.
