"In appearance Chrysantha Tuffet, aged 19, is inclined toward general lack of symmetry, rather resembling parts of the Tuffet family, none matching but offering an oddly charming effect. Her parents often asserted that she was 'endowed at birth with every gift of fortune except beauty and common sense.' But Chrysantha herself possesses plenty of self-confidence, along with powerful assets like humor, a disarming honesty, a certain literal-mindedness, and an extravagant imagination. Her story therefore becomes not a sober recounting of evernts but a fey reconstruction of people, ideas, adventures, and conversations set down with the dramatic urgency and pace of a play."; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
