"Moose Mouse was born and brought up in a machine shop. He was convinced that, contrary to the common belief, human beings do reason after a fashion, and that by observing them at work he might even learn from them. Learn he did. And he applied his mechanical know-how to a 'cheese-holder' which people so kindly placed at his door, not realizing [thought Moose] that it was dangerously defective. Once he knew how to extract the cheese safely, Moose, being public spirited, immediately embarked upon an historic mission to teach his technique to all mousekind."
