Spine a bit rolled, a little edge wear, light reading crease, label residue in upper corner of cover. Evidently an ex-library book as there are Discard stamps on the covers, but no other library markings. Some browning but text is clean and unmarked. "Simon Templar - the Saint - makes it his business to go where angels fear to tread, using his legendary sangfroid to carry off daring escapades that leave ordinary men speechless. Beneath his exquisite Saville-Row tailoring, heart-stopping good looks, and elegant London life-style is a man of steel who follows his own rules and makes his own laws. The Saint is always on the side of the angels, even though the police don't always agree with his methods. " This is a collection of Saint short stories, including 'The Bunco Artists'; 'The Happy Suicide'; 'The Good Medicine'; 'The Unescapable Work'; 'The Perfect Sucker'; and 'The Careful Terrorist'. 007002 Price:

Charteris, Leslie The Saint and the Templar Treasure New York Doubleday 1979 0385150970 / 9780385150972 First American Edition Hard Cover Good Good + Ex-Library
Ex-library with all the usual stamps, markings, and pocket. Black boards, copper lettering, 179 pp. Spine cocked, corners worn, minor edge wear and rubbing, interior clean and unmarked. Jacket in protective cover which has been taped to the boards and pastedowns, a little edge wear and rubbing. A solid copy. "Simon Templar is driving leisurely through the French countryside on his way from Avignon to the Riviera. He picks up two hitch-hikers, students who are going to work at Chateau Ingare, a small vineyard on the site of a former stronghold of the Knights Templar, a society of medieval adventurers who began by protecting pilgrims to the Holy Land and were later believed to have become corrupt and immensely wealthy in the process, although their reputed treasure has never been found. "The coincidence of this association with his own hame intrigues Simon enough for him to take his passengers all the way to the chateau . . . arriving to find a fire in the barn, apparently the work of arsonists. "He learns that the burning of the barn is only the latest of many misfortunes that have afflicted the vineyard since a cryptic ancient tombstone was discovered on the property: These have revived all the old legends about the curse of the Templars and their treasure. "It is not long before a real and indisputable murder proves that he has involved himself in something very sinister but certainly not supernatural. " 007944 Price:

Charteris, Leslie The Saint in New York New York Curtis Books Reprint Edition Mass Market Paperback Good +
224 pp. No publishing date listed but probably late 1960s. Spine a bit creased and rolled, corners bumped, a little edge wear, a bit of rubbing and scuffing. Some tanning but text is clean and unmarked. A solid copy. "The Three Days that Shook Manhattan: The police commissioner of New York City was puzzled when he received a communication from C. E. Teal of the C.I.D., informing him that Simon Templar, better known as 'the Saint,' was at present in the United States and suggesting that 'it would be advisable for you, in your own interests, to observe Templar's activities carefully if you are successful in locating him." The commissioner was inclined to be amused -- until the Saint began his nefarious, reckless, and wholly delightful operations . . . and only then did the police begin to appreciate what it meant to have the Saint in their midst. . . The Saint takes New York in his stride and walks blithely to a climax that is one of the most surprising and ingenious mystery solutions that the author has ever provided." 007361 Price:
