"This early biography, long out of print, of Meher Baba, was written by Charles B. Purdom and published in 1937 in London. The author used the information available to him at that time and it was the first biography concerning the Perfect Master to appear in the West. It treats in depth the period from 1911 to 1931, when Purdom first met Meher Baba on his initial visit to England, and continues with fascinating detail to the year 1936. This book is unique and its message has contemporary as well as historical value. It is personal in the sense that it shows how Meher Baba drew some of his first disciples, many of whom are still living at the time of this second edition of The Perfect Master, 1976."
